Temple of Confucius, Hanoi, Vietnam

My name is Long Thanh Pham, which translates to "Becoming a Dragon" in Vietnamese. I am currently an undergraduate student at UC, studying Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Robotics. I hail from Hanoi, the capital city of Vietnam, which is home to the ancient city of Thang Long, meaning "The Soaring Dragon."

I am currently the President of the UC Counter Strike Club, SRS Leader for Calculus 2 at UC Learning Commons, a lab assistant at Dr. Ou Ma's Intelligent Robotics & Automation System (IRAS) Lab, and an active member of the UC Robotics Club.

I enjoy designing mechanical components for machines and robotics to create devices that are both effective and visually appealing. As a curious person, I have a strong appreciation for surprises, challenges, and memorable experiences. I also take pleasure in inventing, sketching my ideas, and bringing them to life. In my leisure time, I love reading books, listening to music, 3D printing, playing volleyball, and building with Lego. I also enjoy exploring the outdoors and appreciating the world around me.

I had the privilege of being one of the 10 students representing UC at the 2024 PBL Workshop in Taiwan, where my team received the Best Teamwork Award. Additionally, I was awarded a prize at the Fall 2023 Hackathon for the best application of MongoDB.

I have completed two co-op rotations, one at IKO Company in Seville, Ohio as a Project Manager,  and the most recent at IRAS Lab at UC, where I was responsible for design and vision capture projects.

Through the University Honors Program and UC, I aim to become a Global Citizen who will make a positive impact on the world in innovative ways. I also look forward to socializing with students from various majors, making new friends on campus, and embracing the philosophy of "carpe diem", which means enjoying my life at present.
